Honoring R J Chwalek - 1926-2008

Posted by niche on Sep 11, 2008

My father died on Monday September 8, 2008. Richard J. was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend and American, serving during WWII as a Aviation Machinist Mate in San Diego, and on the Shamrock Bay and Bennington Aircraft Carriers. He will be missed by many, but more importantly he helped, befriended, and taught many, many more.

His wife Dorothy, my mother, preceded Richard in death. Ted, his brother, also preceded him in death. He is survived by his five children, Ann Catherine (Ron Chidester) Chwalek of Albia, Laura (Daniel) Beaulieu of Baldwin, Kan., Richard Anthony (Susan) Chwalek of Monticello, Minn., Margaret (David) Bales of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Rebecca (Jim) Starkweather of Lake George, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Taylor) White, Elizabeth (James Chesher) and Josh Beaulieu, Claire and Colleen Chwalek, Megan and Matthew Bales and Laura Renee Starkweather; his great-grandson, Asher Kai White, his great-granddaughter, Taya Beaulieu; and three sisters.
